The MAT armchair has it all!
The name of this chair refers to the material and innovation that forms the core of the design; the abbreviation for materials. This design pays a lot of attention to renewable, sustainable materials. In this case hemp and seagrass, a type of seaweed. Responsible for the design is the Danish design studio Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen. It's the result of years of research and development.
The collection includes dining chairs, armchairs and different bar stools, all available in two versions of hemp or hemp with added seagrass. Not only do the materials provide a more responsible product, they also play a key role in the aesthetics of the design, highlighting the natural beauty and tactility of the materials. The MAT is an exploration of how to create a contemporary shell chair using materials that have a lower environmental impact than the industry standard.
This is the dining room chair with armrest and without upholstery. The shell is also available without armrest and upholstery. The base is available in cream or black steel.
With circularity and responsibility at its core, the Mat collection is designed for disassembly and recycling, so that the components of the Mat Chair can be recycled into new productions for a fully circular life.
