Noa Defesche USA series - collage posters

As a graphic designer, Noa Defesche has a special interest in print, letters and (advertising) signs. She combines this with an architectural form language consisting of grids, facades, floor plans and street scenes. Photography is the starting point in her work. Her focus is on individual elements such as doors, windows, billboards or abstract patterns and structures. With these elements she builds new imaginary buildings and towers. In terms of technique and colors, the collages are very recognizable because they were mainly made with a risograph.

Collage 'Barbershop' is part of the USA series. The newly created buildings are constructed from elements of American buildings and streetscapes. This industrial building houses a barbershop, as evidenced by the iconic barber's pole, a pawn shop, a tire shop or home furnishings store? If you look at this building a little longer, more questions arise than answers.

This is a high-quality print of the original. The paper is exceptionally thick and the colors look great. We chose size is 25 cm by 60 cm. We think this fits very well with these special buildings. Because it may not be a regular size, we also sell matching frames, see options menu.

Risography
A risograph is a device that looks like a copy machine from the outside, but is much more like screen printing in terms of technology. The riso makes a stencil of the image you want to print and then you can make prints at a rapid pace and build layers. Noa's device can print 1 color per printing pass. Because risography works with different layers and the ink drums have imperfections, all prints are always slightly different and therefore unique and artisinal.
