Blackwing Volume 200, a tribute to Coffeehouses around the world
The Blackwing 200 is a tribute to coffeehouses and the creative culture they help cultivate.
During the 1950s and 1960s in post-war America, coffeehouses became synonymous with creativity and intellectualism. This is the place where people gathered to drink black coffee and recite poetry
An example of this was Caffè Lena in Saratoga, NY. Opened in a former woodworking shop in 1960, Caffè Lena is still the oldest continuously running coffeehouse in the United States. That longevity has allowed it to host countless creative icons from the Beatniks to members of the Folk Revival, establishing Caffè Lena as a cornerstone of America's creative counterculture.
Each pencil features a metallic copper design, inspired by classic copper roasters found in many coffee houses in the 1950s and 1960s. The roasting process begins when the internal temperature of a coffee berry seed reaches 200 degrees Celsius, turning it into the familiar coffee bean. These pencils also have our sturdy graphite core which is perfect for getting inspired at a local coffeehouse
The box contains 12 pencils. The grain in this version of the Volumes is 602 firm
